Sensors for Farms - A Resource Site
This site was first produced using results from a grant to Brookfield Farm in 2012 from the USDA Northeast Sustainable Research and Education (SARE) program titled "Evaluation of Inexpensive, Wireless Sensor Networks for Managing Small Vegetable Farms". The project description and final report is available here.
I am Larry Manire and I was the Technical Manager on the grant and ordered, deployed and tested all of the equipment.
Since the grant was over I am continuing to test and evaluate sensors suitable for small farms and collaborating with others to assist New England farmers in adopting the technologies. New England Farm Sensors is an informal association of farmers, consultants and technical types interested in using wireless sensors on farms and this website provides a place to accumulate our knowledge and experience.
